Looking to volunteer on Earth Day?

Not just on Earth Day! Should be everyday!
As we get closer to honoring our beautiful earth by being down with OPP on earth day, Sunday, April 22nd, 2018, we should reflect on why it’s important to pick up our dog waste and why it’s cool to be down with OPP, not just on earth day, but every everyday!
- The more poop-less doggie places, equals possibilities for more dog friendly areas and establishments. This can be good for you and for other dog people.
- Means you care about the aesthetics and preservation of your neighborhood. You care about the smell of your surrounding areas. You care about making walks more enjoyable not only for you, but also for all those that walk about your neighborhood.
- You understand that doing so prevents yours and/or OPDs (other people’s dogs) from rolling in it, eating it or worse yet; both (rolling in it and eating it). This shows you care about other dog owners and dogs; which makes you a responsible (and good) dog owner citizen (aren’t we all???).
- Prevents diseases. According to a 2002 article in USA Today, Dogs generate disease-causing bacteria that can make people sick. Studies done in the last few years put dogs third or fourth on the list of the contributors to bacteria in contaminated waters.
- You care about the earth. In 1991, dog waste was labeled a non-point source pollutant by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), placing it in the same category as herbicides and insecticides; oil, grease and toxic chemicals; and acid drainage from abandoned mines.
Meet us on Sunday, April 22nd at Rocco’s Pack Dog Training. 7AM. It’s a community clean up project. It’s so cool to be down with OPP.
