The inaugural fundrasing event for Human Animal Bonds for Life, City Dog 5k took place on February 25, 2018.  A great time was had by all.  Participants walked, ran and doggies joined their humans in on the fun.  Registration got all participants a pass to either the 5k or the 1 mile doggie dash, a City Dog 5k t-shirt, a super cool custom made finisher medal and we couldn’t leave the doggies out, dogs received a City Dog 5k bandana.  Afterward, the fuel zone was open with water, bananas, protein bars, muffins, apples and coconut water compliments of Costco, Publix and Harmless Harvest.

Our awesome vendors were offering everything from free doggie physical exams, free nail trims and teeth brushing, and offering delicious doggie ice pops.  Miami Dade Animal Services was also on site with their HOPE unit and showcasing the awesome adoptable dogs at our local animal shelter.

The Sunny Isles Beach PD, Bal Harbour PD and Miami Beach PD were also there with their canines to show and talk about the important job that dogs do in public service.

We were also joined by Southeastern Guide Dogs and we got to hear about their puppy raising program and the rigorous training that guide dogs undergo.

Finally, the festivities ended with some PLAY, of course.  We played musical sits and the winner took home a $25.00 gift certificate compliments of Whole Foods and a bag of organic dog food offered by Augie’s Doggies in Fort Lauderdale.

We thank everyone who joined us and participated either by donating, sponsoring and/or being a vendor.

Join us for City Dog 5k on January 20, 2019!
